Big Game Brochure The Primary Limited License Draw application and correction deadline passed onApril 2, 2024,at8:00 p.m. MT; however, there are still some great opportunities to apply for andpurchase a license. Secondary Limited License Draw will be the next opportunity for hunters to apply fora Colorado big game limited license.Most elk, deer, pronghorn and bear licenses not issued through the primary draw will be made available to anyone, whether they applied for the primary draw or not.Secondary draw applicationswill be accepted starting onJune 20, 2024. Over-the-Counter, Remaining and Reissued Licensesareavailable without having to participate inthe draw(s). They do not require buying/having aqualifying license, do not use preference points and can be purchased after the start of a season by phone, online and in person at sales agents around the state. These licenses will be available for purchase on August 6, 2024, 9a.m. MT. The application fee.You'll still be charged a fee for applying, whether or not you draw a license. The $8resident and $10 nonresident application fees apply per species for the secondary draw. No primary draw?No problem. You do not have to have applied in the primary big game draw to apply in the secondary draw. Aqualifying licenseis required. No preference points.You cannot use or apply for a preference point in the secondary draw. Colorado has a wealth of public land hunting opportunities. The Colorado Hunting Atlasallows users to view big game concentrations and game management units displayedon top ofstreet maps, USGS topographic maps or high-resolution color aerial photography. Big-game access within the program has been expanded to the entire eastern plains, totaling approximately 166,493 acres.
