This Bisquick Cheddar Biscuits recipe is my EASY version of Cheddar Bay Biscuits! Only 4 ingredients in this easy cheddar biscuit recipe (plus spices!)

While we’ve been home more, I’ve had a lot of time to experiment in the kitchen. One day, my husband said he wished we could have Cheddar Bay Biscuits! The result? The recipe for these Bisquick Cheddar Biscuits!

This easy Cheddar Biscuit Recipe is based off the famous Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits, but is made easy because it uses Bisquick mix!

“This was fabulous. Today is chilly here in Michigan, and I pulled out some of my spicy homemade chili and thought cheesy biscuits would be perfect. This recipe is outstanding! Thanks for sharing!!!”

I try not to be negative about restaurants, but I think most of us agree the Cheddar Bay biscuits at Red Lobster are the best thing they have!

My husband and I used to go to Red Lobster during high school and college on dates. We’d eat our WEIGHT in biscuits, sometimes getting a third or fourth basket! Oh, to be young again and eat whatever you want! It was fun while it lasted.

To be fair, Red Lobster makes a mean Caesar salad as well. But, besides the biscuits and salad, there isn’t much that I love. So, it’s a no brainer for me to make these cheesy biscuits at home and work them into our dinners.

Using Bisquick mix to make these easy cheddar biscuits cuts out several ingredients. If you’ve been following along here for a while, you know I’m a lazy baker! I’ll always take a shortcut if it’s available and cuts down on measuring.

“Thanks for this recipe! I ended up using real garlic because I didn’t have powdered, and also skipped the parsley for the same reason. So good! Worked well with my hearty lentil soup!”

To the Bisquick mix, you only have to add cheddar cheese, butter and milk to form the biscuit base.

Then, add garlic powder and parsley. The parsley is truly just for color, it does not add much flavor! I love to eat these with my creamy Cream of Crab Soup.

You can make these cheesy biscuits gluten free! Bisquick does make a gluten free mix, and YES, it does work for this recipe! There are some differences in texture, but the flavor is spot on. Add Gluten Free Bisquick Mix to your Amazon cart here.

Here’s a version worth trying – from my Aunt Bonnie in Georgia.
    2 cups Bisquick
    1 can Campbells Cheddar cheese
1 tube of Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage.
    20 min at 350…..done.
    deceptively simple.

I like this recipe, but 2nd time I added 1 tsp minced garlic to dough. I increased garlic powder and parsley to 1/2 tsp and added parsley to melted butter. This made the recipe taste almost.identical to real thing. Oh and I increased cheese to 2/3 cup

I like your version the best. It bakes at 400 instead of 425 or 450. It gives the inside time to bake before it browns. I did add garlic to biscuit itself and added extra cheese. I also added extra garlic in the butter along with the parsley. Exceptional!
